Personal Statement:
Lewin John TIpene Husband (Moehau), Ngāti Maru, Tainui is an experienced bilingual educator and a senior management leader. Moehau's specialist skills include te reo Māori, digital technologies, kapa haka, music and physical education.
Most recently, he is the deputy principal at Te Kura Ākonga o Manurewa and has taught in immersion bilingual and mainstream settings for over ten years. Moehau is currently studying a Master of Māori Medium Education at Te Wānanga o Raukawa.
He has a Bachelor of Māori Development and a diploma of Sports & Recreation from Auckland University of Technology, a Bachelor of Education from Te Wānanga Takiura o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori o Aotearoa.
He is the founder of Indigication, a social enterprise that connects indigenous students with the endless possibilities of enabling digital capabilities. Moehau has a dynamic personality that inspires the ākonga he works with.
He is an amazing broadcaster, MC and commentator. Equally at home in front as a keynote as in front of young tamariki.
A proud father of two bilingual tamariki. Has an awesome sidestep and cooks a wicked curry.
